UP technology is the simplest solution for the production of oral drugs with flexible dosages and controlled drug release speed: consisting of a single motor and a nozzle, the UP machinery has the minimum number of components useful to produce a customized pill, therefore make decentralized and cost-effective oral drug production possible.

The manufacturing process, protected by an international patent application, consists in covering the inert edible base of the pill with the required amount of drug. The inert base, put in rotation on its own axis of symmetry, is hit by one or more jets of active material and excipients, in order to generate a multi-layered structure as required by the pharmaceutical form.
